Do not go to West Middlesex hospital, London whatever you do.
My dear mother had a nasty fall down our stairs late Thursday night and hurt her ankle; where we had to call 999 as she couldn’t get up and walk..
They came and took her to the hospital at around 2am yesterday (Friday). I can’t fault the paramedics; they were amazing and treated my
Mom with care and compassion.
My 24 year old sister went with mom to the hospital as I stayed at home to watch my younger siblings. Anyways, there was no privacy; they literally treated my mom in the corridor whilst she sat in one of those wheel chair. They rushed my mom, and after an x ray they told her that it was badly sprained and that was it. They didn’t even prescribe her with any strong pain killers, strap her ankle up or give her crutches. They left her in pain and sent her home. They even left a cannula in her arm, and luckily my mom realised when she was just walked out the hospital and walked back inside to get them to take it out.
Anyways, fast forward to today; my auntie told her to get a second opinion and so she did go to a walk in centre today. When she was seen, they read the report and told her that she did in fact fracture her ankle, and that she is being referred to a fracture clinic and she is on the west mid ‘call back list’.. A call that she STILL has not received !! Now imagine if my mom didn’t get a second opinion, she still would have no idea that she fractured her ankle..
How on earth is the doctor rushing my mom out the door and failing to notice a fracture on the Xray; all because they were rushing my mom out the door !!
I get that the NHS is heavily strained, but there is no excuse to treat a patient so poorly like this..
I cant help but think was she treated in this way because she is a Muslim?
