Just a genuine question: Are there still women who want marriage because they truly want a loving partner and a home of their own? Greetings from the city of Tangier.
A girl i have been getting to know for a while has now said she wants to do zina with me as part of the process prior to marriage. She wants me to take her away for a weekend.....i have no interest in doing that as it is haram but i am also disappointed that she showed her true colours after 9 months! Is it time to bin her off before i fall into sin?
This advice is particularly for my younger brothers and sisters.
I started looking for a spouse when I was around 26–27, and I’m now 32, turning 33 in October. Having gone through the process for several years, I’ve learnt a lot from the experience.
If you’re in your early or mid-20s, whether you’re a brother or sister, I would genuinely encourage you not to delay the search unnecessarily if you are ready for marriage.
From my experience, the process can become more challenging as you get older. Circumstances change, expectations can increase, and people may become more particular about what they are looking for in a spouse.
This isn’t meant to pressure anyone or suggest that there is a specific age by which you must be married. Everyone’s circumstances are different, and Allah ﷻ has written a different journey for each of us.
However, if you are ready, don’t keep putting it off thinking, “I’ll look later.” Make an effort, keep your expectations realistic, and put your trust in Allah.
May Allah ﷻ make the process easy for all of us and grant everyone a righteous spouse who is a source of tranquillity, love and companionship. Ameen.
