I’m Ali, one of the people behind Dostination. I’m also single.

My co-host Sarah and I created Dostination because we understand why so many people are skeptical of singles events.

You arrive alone. Other people stay with the friends they came with. Conversations feel forced. Everyone asks the same five résumé-style questions, and you leave without getting a real sense of anyone’s personality.

So we created the kind of singles event we would actually want to attend.

Summer of Dosti is a singles event created by singles, for singles.

Next Saturday, August 15, we are bringing together South Asian Muslim singles ages 25–40 at Cavalli Lounge in Dallas for a hosted Desi game night where the games help make the introductions naturally.

🎭 KASAI BAKRA

Be among the first to play our Desi twist on Mafia.

Instead of struggling through forced small talk, you will quickly discover who can think on their feet, who can bluff, who takes charge, who is observant, who is competitive, and who confidently accuses the completely wrong person.

🗣️ LAFZ BAAZI

Our Desi version of Taboo, featuring words, references and moments people from our culture will immediately understand.

The evening will also include hosted icebreakers, appetizers, a mocktail and time for real conversations.

This is not speed dating.

It is not a lecture.

It is not an unstructured mixer where you are expected to spend the evening cold-approaching strangers.

We will organize guests into hosted game groups, guide the activities and help make the introductions.

Coming alone is completely welcome. You will not be left standing around wondering who to talk to.

We are also actively monitoring registrations and planning the event with a healthy mix of men and women in mind. We know the guest mix can make or break a singles event, so it is a real consideration for us, not an afterthought.

As attendance grows, we will continue organizing guests into smaller game groups so the experience remains structured, social and easy to participate in.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 ticket releases are now sold out.

Tier 3 registration is officially open, and additional ticket releases will depend on capacity and our ability to maintain the quality of the experience.

Can we promise that you will meet your future spouse in one evening? No. Anyone making that promise would not be honest.

What we can offer is a much more natural opportunity to experience someone’s humor, confidence, kindness, communication style and energy than another evening of swiping or answering interview questions.
