I dread the thought of falling ill—God forbid I ever have to experience that. My kidneys are vital, and I just want my blood to be of use to others; that is all.

The highlight of my wash day is massaging in the amla oil and feeling like the heroine of a 1980s Bollywood film with slicked back hair. Then I remember I have curly hair.. and the drama hasn’t even started yet. This isn’t a romance.. it’s an action movie 😭
