I don't even make posts but after seeing so many posts complaining about men I thought this one deserved a response.

I came across a post claiming that men have a long list of requirements for a wife but when asked "What do you bring to the table?" the answer is simply "I'm a man."

That sounds clever until you think about it for more than a second... unless you don't have a single functioning brain cell.

If a man's only qualification was being male then women wouldn't spend months or even years looking for the right husband.

They wouldn't ask about his:

• Career 💼
• Income 💰
• Earning potential 📈
• Ambition 🚀
• Emotional maturity ❤️
• Understanding 🤝
• Compatibility 💍
• Family background 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
• House 🏠
• Area he lives in 📍
• Height 📏
• Physique 💪
• Appearance 😎
• Voice 🎤
• Hairstyle 💇‍♂️
• Grooming ✂️
• Clothing 👔
• Confidence 🦁
• Personality ✨
• Manners 🤝
• How he walks 🚶
• How he sits 🪑
• How he speaks 🗣️
• His accent and dialect 🗨️
• Age 📅
• Family reputation 🌳
• Parents 👨‍👩‍👦
• Siblings 👨‍👧‍👦
• Caste 🏷️
• Social status 📈
• Future prospects 📊

They would simply marry the first man who proposed and expect him to magically provide money stability security emotional maturity understanding compatibility leadership and a successful future out of nowhere.

But that's not how the real world works.

Men are judged on almost everything.

And after marriage the expectations don't stop.

A husband is expected to:

• Provide financially 💰
• Arrange housing 🏠
• Pay the bills 💳
• Protect and support his family 🛡️
• Take his wife to doctor appointments 🏥
• Take her shopping 🛍️
• Take her to her parents' home (maika) 🚗
• Attend her relatives' weddings 🎉
• Attend family gatherings 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
• Plan vacations and outings ✈️
• Buy gifts 🎁
• Fulfil her needs ❤️
• Fulfil many of her wants 🌹
• Help raise children 👶
• Handle emergencies 🚨
• Solve problems 🧩
• Make difficult decisions ⚖️
• Deal with relatives 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
• Shoulder financial pressure 💸
• Remain emotionally strong even when life becomes overwhelming 💪

People also love bringing up cooking as if it is some impossible achievement.

I have cooked countless times myself.

Cooking is a skill that can be learned with practice.

Building a career earning enough to support a family arranging a home staying financially stable under pressure and meeting the expectations of both your wife and her family is a completely different challenge.

If it were easy every man would already be well settled.

If men only had to exist then women would not be looking for well settled men.

They would just be looking for men.

And God forbid a man points out the pressure he is under or the double standards he faces.

Instead of addressing what he says people often use his reaction against him as if reacting to unfair treatment somehow proves he was wrong.

Yet after all of this someone says a man's biggest achievement is simply existing.

If that were true none of these standards or responsibilities would exist in the first place.

The marriage market itself proves otherwise.

Men are not chosen just because they are men.

They are expected to become something before they are even considered worthy of marriage.

Pretending otherwise doesn't make it true.

According to Islam, the best marriage is one that is founded on faith, good character, honesty, kindness, responsibility, and mutual consent. Wealth and financial status may be important, but they should never be the primary criteria for choosing a life partner.
