On the topic of organizational justice, the hadith comes to mind "Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allah".
The concept of 'Distributive Justice' requires leaders to share rewards and burdens fairly based on moral values. Trust is built over time through consistent, fair treatment and is easily shattered by the perception of favoritism or "in-group" biases. When leaders act unfairly, they create susceptible followers who may become disengaged or even sabotage the mission.
Consider this: Who in your organization currently feels "oppressed" by an unfair policy? What power do you have to change it?

The Problem with AI isn't Capability.
It's Capability Discovery.

Honestly, I wish my inbox was filled with messages from sisters wanting me to bring their dream abayas and prayer dresses to life… instead of messages from men 😭😂🧵✨
Sisters, send me your dream designs! I’d love to create something beautiful, modest and uniquely yours 🤍🪡👗✨

From the Hadith of Anas ibn Malik we learn the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Make things easy and do not make things difficult; give glad tidings and do not repel people".
The emphasis here is on moderation and accessibility; in faith and daily conduct. As leaders we should prioritize ease over unnecessary hardship to prevent burning ourselves and others out. By focusing on positive reinforcement and encouragement, we can foster a welcoming environment that attracts people toward growth rather than pushing them away through severity. Ultimately, it serves as a reminder that the most effective way to lead or teach is through kindness and simplicity as we have seen throughout the Prophet's (ﷺ) شخصية (character).
Leadership's Path-Goal Theory suggests a leader’s primary role is to remove obstacles and to provide the specific support followers need. Throughout your leadership journey, you will find that resistance to change is often rooted in the fear of the unknown and the stress of added complexity.
By developing your playbook, simplifying processes, and maintaining a positive environment, you can regulate the distress of change. Effective change management will bring in resolve, order, and consistency, ensuring that the human element is not repelled by the chaos that always ensues change.
Consider this: Does your current strategy simplify the path for your team or create new hurdles? What will you change today to make tomorrow better?
