It's around the corner, Muharram 🤍.. I need to be reminded of tasu'a and ashura, hope we'll get there InshaAllah

Ibn Abbas reported:

“I never saw the Prophet so keen to fast a particular day and prefer it over others except the Day of Ashura.” (HR. al-Bukhari)

To distinguish Muslim practice from Jewish tradition, the Prophet intended to add fasting on the 9th of Muharram, known as Tasu’a. He said:

لَئِنْ بَقِيتُ إِلَى قَابِلٍ لَأَصُومَنَّ التَّاسِعَ
“If I live until next year, I will certainly fast on the ninth day.” (HR. Muslim)

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was asked about fasting on the Day of Ashura, and he said:
"It will expiate the sins of the past year."(Sahih Muslim)

Wallahu a'lam bishawab

Tried getting away for the weekend by the longest route deliberately so that I could finish the book I was reading and do some self reflection.
Made friends in the most unusual and unexpected place.
Got into my airbnb and just cried.
Cried the whole night.
Came back the next day by the early train, made a good friend on the train.
Realised how blessed I am Alhamdulillah
Came back and cried again on my prayer.

You must be wondering why I cried…
Loneliness.

Is there a podcast or book I could look into that portrays how much Allah loves us? So that I can refer back to it when I forget my worth? Or read it to feel loved?
