My favorite story of Siti Hajar, whose loneliness is immortalized by the sky
Hajar was left in an unnamed desert, without water, without humans...

Yesterday, one of my employees messaged me saying that he urgently had to leave for Pakistan because his father had passed away رحمه الله… Yesterday was also my father's birthday (although I don't celebrate birthdays).

It was a reminder for me, so I sent my parents a reminder about death and preparing for hereafter… as one shaykh حفظه الله told us during a lesson (I've rephrased it slightly):
“Just as a lamp illuminates everything around it while leaving darkness directly beneath itself, a person may often give religious reminders to many people yet forget those closest to him — his own parents”
