I used to laugh at people forcing dead jokes. Now I just let them have their moment and make my exit.
@ohplswhoisyou
where did all the funny people go?
Nonchalant isn't my type. I want mine obsessed, clingy, and yearning for me.
Anyone else?

Hot take: Muslim parents care more about their own image and what other people will say rather than their own child’s happiness and mental health

Question for ladies,
Girl to girl, do you feel like you’re asking too much if you’re looking for someone who values appearance, hygiene and physical well-being because you yourself have that kind of lifestyle?
Obviously overall character is important, how a person is on the inside and being respectful, Islamic and kind. But to me that’s like basic human decency. Following the teachings of Islam is a whole lifestyle and it is actually aiming to better you as a person in many aspects. Having a good character is fundamental to Islam, so we should all aim for the basic principles at least.
But also, I think if I’m putting in the effort to be healthy, look put together, have my own sense of self expression through what I wear (obviously not in a haram way), smell clean etc etc, I would want my spouse to have the same attributes.
Just overall appearance and fitness, nothing crazy, I’m not saying that we have to go and change our natural features or wtv. But yk, having interest in dressing well, taking care of your body, putting effort in self care. Things that I do which feel natural and good to me, I’d want to share with my partner too.
Is that too much to ask for?
