Pretty much everyone's heard of PTSD, we all deal with various levels of it in our own ways, officially diagnosed or not, it's just a matter of being in tune with and regulating ourselves to maintain our calm.
There ain't much that throws me off anymore, if at all. But doing my first ever pap smear? Yeah, that'll do it, even through my preceptor was there to literally hold my hand through it all, bless her heart.
I mosdef did not want to have anything to do with it, but it's a graduation requirement, so we we embrace the suck, suppress the ickaphobia, put on our mask of professional facies, use the learning opportunity for what it is, and get the job done.
Anywho, 30 days of hospital medicine done, 30 nights left, with the weekly continuity clinic thrown in, bc y'know, 12 hr shifts 6 nights a week just aren't enough, so let's reinforce that resilience with an extra half day of clinic just before you start your night, a little bit of pregaming, if you will.
