Spent more than four hours waiting for my friend to finish a meeting.

The good part? I managed to teach three classes during that time. Alhamdulillah, I'm grateful to have a job that lets me work from anywhere. ❤️

The bad part? I left my phone charger behind. 🥲

Lesson of the day: Always check your belongings carefully before leaving.

Good morning
Happy Friday 😁

Life is unpredictable.
I am sure Most of us has gone through break-up
But 🤔how do you feel about it

One day you’ll realize
that breakup didn’t ruin you.

It saved you.

Saved you from begging for bare minimum.
From shrinking yourself to keep someone.
From living in constant confusion and emotional exhaustion.

At the time it felt like loss.
But sometimes loss is protection.

Your mind was attached,
but your peace was slowly disappearing.

Healing often begins
the moment something unhealthy ends.

So if a relationship ended
and it shattered you…

Give it time.

One day you’ll look back and say:
Thank God that happened.

In Sha Allah 🤲
More Good to Come

My parents would prefer me to marry someone they have some ballpark knowledge of their family background etc. (as some other parents must do too I guess, coming from a Pakistani background).

When I’ve spoken to anyone local, they somehow seem to know and are friends with my male relatives (as I have so much family who are well known locally) and follow a ‘bro code’ as to not befriend/ associate themselves with me because of this ‘out of respect’ as they say.

Which means I have to find someone who doesn’t know my family and vice versa.

But then my family will struggle to accept this person because they don’t know them/ their family.

What’s a girl meant to do please 🏳️

Yesterday, I met this amazing woman for the first time.

She's here on Jamaa. We've been talking quite often ever since I was planning my trip to Lombok and looking for a travel buddy. (Eventually she can't join as she is going to Japan)

She is incredibly kind.

Jakarta isn't my hometown, but it's the city where I completed my master's degree. I came back to collect my master's certificate after officially finishing my studies.

She picked me up from the train station at 4:30 a.m. and spent the entire day taking me from one place to another as I had several meetings.

We didn't get back home until 11:00 p.m.

Sometimes, you meet someone for the very first time, yet it feels as though you've known them forever.

Thank you, ⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨⁨@crysbiel, for letting me stay at your place and for accompanying me everywhere. You made this trip to Jakarta a truly memorable one.

Now, let's meet the other Jamaa girls today. 🤍

It’s funny that someone who reached out to me on Jamaa to get to know for marriage, just a day in decided that they wanted to take a break from the app. But they’re posting everyday lol. Which is perfectly cool, I get it you wanted a way out without making it complicated, I respect it.

Basically moral of the story, if you want a way to stop talking to someone. Just say, you want to take a break for a few days, but don’t follow through but skedaddle out of the conversation.
