Why do so many men put “open-minded” in their bio? I just can’t see it as a positive thing. It always sounds a little suspicious to me. Maybe TikTok’s “Hongdae guy” vd have affected the way I see it. 😅

💕 IS DATING ALLOWED IN ISLAM?

A reminder for myself first, then for anyone who may benefit. 🤍

This is a question many young Muslims ask:

"Can a Muslim date before marriage?"

The simple answer is No.

Islam does not permit the type of romantic relationship between a man and a woman who are not married that is commonly called "dating" today.

Why?

Because Islam doesn't only forbid zina (fornication); it also forbids the paths that can lead to it.

Allah says:

«"And do not go near zina (unlawful sexual relations). Indeed, it is an immorality and an evil way."
(Qur'an 17:32)»

Notice that Allah did not only say, "Do not commit zina." He said, "Do not go near it."

This includes situations that can stir unlawful desires or lead to temptation.

The Prophet ﷺ also said:

«"No man should be alone with a woman except when there is a mahram with her, for the third of them is Shayṭān."
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī & Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)»

Does this mean Islam is against love?

Not at all.

Islam encourages marriage and recognizes that a man and a woman may be interested in one another. But it provides a halal path to that relationship.

If you are interested in someone:

🤍 Involve your family or guardians.

🤍 Get to know the person in a respectful and halal manner.

🤍 Ask about their religion, character, and compatibility.

🤍 Pray Ṣalāt al-Istikhārah and ask Allah to guide you.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

«"When someone whose religion and character please you comes to you (seeking marriage), then marry him..."
(Jāmiʿ at-Tirmidhī)»

Love is not haram.

Marriage is not haram.

But a relationship that involves unlawful intimacy, seclusion (khalwah), flirting, or actions that lead to sin is not the way Islam teaches us to build a family.

Remember:

The right person, found the right way, brings barakah (blessing).

May Allah grant every single Muslim a righteous spouse, protect our hearts from temptation, and make the halal easy and beloved to us.

Why Islam do not support Dating.

Stay away from it and dedicated your time to something important or settled down and marry.

Islam is Beautiful.

A 24 year old young lady is in my DM.

She says that she's losing her self worth.

Her man recently broke up with her because according to her, the man said he cannot marry a non-virgin woman.

But he has been sleeping with her.

So I asked her:

How many men have you slept with since you started having ***?

"12 men sir (including him), 6 are married men"

Did you tell this to the man that just broke up with you?

"No sir, I didn't tell him. I didn't want him to judge me harshly with it"

So the main reason he broke up with you is because he doesn't want to marry a non-virgin?

"Yes sir. He then told me that he has found another girl that is a virgin and she's pure"

How old is this man?

"He's 30 sir"

"I feel very bad, and I don't know how to move on from this. I feel he used me and now he has dumped me".

I have told her to wish him good luck and she should move on with her life.

Me: You see this line "I feel he used me and now he has dumped me ", most ladies don't know when and how to use these words. You've sleep with 12 men, out of those men 6 are married men but it's this one that "used" you. Sleeping with married men? Well the guy just had his own share of her and has decided to move on. And who told her the guy doesn't know her *** escapades. Men are very smart and not all think with their preeq. Women need to understand that men in general can tell the level of women's sexcapades they've had, even if you lied to him, he will just choose to stay quiet, especially if he's a street guy, he will definitely do the math and get the body count figures not necessarily be exact. Low self esteem is the result of so many vices in society. The world is a tough place. While you are enjoying your youth, make sure you are not destroying your future in the process. The things we do today will become our past tomorrow but for now we know what we are doing.

Where I come from, people sometimes ship celebrities together. And they say that sometimes if people around you sense chemistry and ship two people, oftentimes it turns into a reality. Personally I have seen close people shipped together, become a couple later.
