Just something I was wondering. For those of us who wish to get married & have children In Sha Allah, what are we doing to prepare ourselves for marriage & parenthood ?

We spend so much time chasing marriage & searching for the one, but how much attention do we pay to our spiritual & character development ?

For example & this is for both men & women, if you’re not emotionally stable how will you regulate your child’s emotion ?

Surely we should fear not being just, giving our partner and children their rights & should aim to be the best version of ourselves, than obsess over the notion of marriage and parenthood.

It’s not a rhetorical question, I’d like some more ideas, whats everyone doing ?

As-salamu Alaikum.
I’m not looking for perfection.
I’m looking for a woman with serious intentions, who understands how this world works and values faith, loyalty, and family.
If there’s mutual attraction and we share the same values, meeting in person will show whether we’re meant to move forward.

Post for Girls!
HOW TO ASK MEN ABOUT THEIR MONEY WITHOUT LOOKING GREEDY?
If men read this, they’ll use it to their advantage and prepare their answers in advance to outsmart the greedy ones 😂😳

Instead of asking a man directly how much he earns, have a normal conversation and let the details reveal themselves naturally.

For example:

“When do you usually get time to talk? What’s your availability around work, weekends, or evenings?” (Shows workload, work pattern, and consistency.)

“What keeps you busy during the week? How did you get into your line of work?” (Shows career history, progression, and whether the story is consistent.)

“Is your job stressful or pretty relaxed? How do you usually unwind? Does your workplace have a prayer room?” (Shows work environment, company culture, and work-life balance.)

“What’s your daily commute like?” (Gives clues about workplace location, commute time, and lifestyle.)

“Do you enjoy where you live? Is it a quiet or busy area? Is it close to the city or airport?” (Shows neighbourhood, living standards, convenience, and environment.)

“Have you lived there long? If you moved tomorrow, where would you choose to live? Do you prefer the city or suburbs?” (Shows stability, ambition, future plans, and spending priorities.)

“What’s your idea of a perfect holiday? Any travel plans this year?” (Shows travel habits, interests, and financial priorities.)

“What’s the last thing you bought for yourself? What’s one purchase you’ve never regretted? Is there anything you’ve always wanted to buy?” (Shows spending habits, priorities, aspirations, and disposable income.)

“Are you more of a saver or a spender? What do you never mind spending money on?” (Shows financial mindset and values.)

“Do you usually cook or order food? What do you normally do after work?” (Shows daily routine, independence, and lifestyle.)

“If money wasn’t a concern, what would you be doing instead? Do you see yourself staying in your current career long term?” (Shows ambition, career satisfaction, and long-term goals.)

No single answer tells you someone’s financial situation. But over time, their answers, consistency, lifestyle, and behaviour often paint a much clearer picture than asking, “How much do you earn?”
