How difficult is it?
How difficult is it to understand that everyone here is carrying a whole lifetime on their shoulders?
- Someone is sitting under a mountain of pressure from family and society to just get married already.
- Someone grew up watching a string of failed or nonexistent marriages in their family, quietly fighting the fear that they’re bound to repeat the same pattern.
- Someone just had their heart completely shattered after investing years into the wrong person, and they are terrifyingly, bravely trying one more time.
- Someone lost their parents, or grew up without them, and a partner is the only real shot at family they have left.
- Someone has a universe of love ready to give, but keeps finding people who don't know how to receive it.
- Someone doesn't fit into the neat little box of "tradition," but they possess a depth of maturity most people miss.
- Someone might be struggling financially right now, but they have the drive, potential, and ambition to build a future.
- Someone doesn't look like an actor/actresses, but they have a heart of absolute gold.
- Someone put their entire youth on hold to raise their younger siblings or carry their family's financial burdens, and they are finally, finally allowed to look out for themselves.
- Someone is actively healing from abuse) including domestic violence, child abuse and toxic frndships) learning how to breathe, trust, and open up again.
- Someone saved themselves entirely for "the one," holding onto hope.
- Someone survived a disability, an accident, or deep trauma, and they are still in the middle of rebuilding.
- Someone simply wants to get married because, to them, building a home and a family has always been their biggest, most beautiful dream.
- Someone came on this app maybe because it's one of their strongest source of hope right now.

How difficult is it to understand that every single profile you swipe on comes with a complex story?

Some people are genuinely, sincerely looking for their person.

And then someone else comes along and ghosts them. Lies to them. Talks cheaply. Age shames. Wastes their time. Gives false hope. Cheats. Someone comes along who doesn't understand how deeply patriarchy, misogyny, and misandry hurt both men and women.

Someone who puts in zero effort, uses people as a temporary emotional crutch to move on from their ex, or just dumps them in the middle of the road because they lack the self-awareness to know what they actually want.

Do you actually understand how difficult you are making it for someone?
You know what’s easy?
Being decent. Not wasting someone’s time and energy. And not breaking a heart that was already trying so hard to heal.
Understanding our own patterns and knowing what am I believing or holding tightly is it helping me or pulling me down.

I've been talking to this guy for almost two weeks, and not once did he ask for a video call. I just assumed maybe he wasn't the video call type.

Yesterday, I was feeling moody. He kept asking me, "What's wrong?" I said, "Nothing."

The next thing I knew, the call switched to video. I don't even know if he did it by mistake or intentionally.

Guys... what I saw made me freeze😭

This man didn't have his front teeth! About five teeth were missing at the top and around seven were missing at the bottom. I literally stared at my phone, wondering if my network was glitching. I even blinked several times because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. 😂

I immediately asked him, "What happened to your teeth?" He ignored the question completely. I asked again and again... still no answer. Since then, he has stopped calling me.

Please don't misunderstand me. I know nobody is perfect, and we're not supposed to choose a partner based on looks alone. But I won't pretend I wasn't shocked because I really wasn't expecting that.
