When marriage is no longer seen as worship, commitment becomes conditional. And when commitment becomes conditional, divorce begins to look ordinary instead of extraordinary. Islam permits divorce when necessary, but it never teaches us to treat a broken family as something trivial.
Do not merely search for someone who captures your heart. Search for someone who brings your heart closer to Allah. For when youth fades and this world changes, only faith and good character will remain strong enough to carry a marriage until the end.
