Salaams all. Here's just some Food for thought:

Marriage is often seen as "his and her roles". Which, personally, I don't entirely agree on (though yes some things are more masculine and some more feminine) however I see it as a project you build on together.

compare it to something like gardening for example. you sew the seeds, you water it and watch it grow. The first few seasons may not do great because the plant is learning what it needs to be, what it could become. It takes time, patience, even space sometimes. Sometimes it needs pruning - going back to the start, and tweaking things for it to fulfil it's potential and sometimes you just gotta get rid of the dead leaves to allow it to flourish. But over time and with all the right tools, the right conditions, the plant will have embedded it's roots, deepinto the soil and it becomes stable.

Because it's been nurtured it now feels safe and confident to grow into everything it was meant to be and more. It's flowers bloom, its fruits are bountiful and there is plenty of lt to share. Those around you will feed from it too and learn from it. The respect, kindness and love for each other.

So I believe when we find our person we should be bold and dive in - give it every thing you have to give. because how can you reap the rewards if you only sew half the seeds??!?

180K views · 1.6K reactions | One of the biggest reasons couples struggle after marriage isn't compatibility. It's the completely different rules men and women are raised with. A daughter is taught, "Your husband's family is your family now." A son is taught, "Don't ever let your parents feel like you've changed." So he enters marriage trying to be the same son. She enters marriage trying to become a different daughter. And somewhere in the middle, the marriage starts carrying expectations it was never designed to carry. The husband feels guilty every time he chooses his wife. The wife feels guilty every time she chooses herself. Nobody wins. These aren't relationship problems. They're generational beliefs quietly running your marriage. The question is... Are you building your marriage around guilt? Or around the family you're trying to create together? After coaching 500+ couples, we've seen that the strongest marriages aren't the ones without family pressure. They're the ones where both partners learn to protect each other without carrying unnecessary guilt. If you're struggling with in-law interference, loyalty conflicts, or setting boundaries with family, DM us and let's work through it together in a 1:1 coaching session. Your marriage deserves to come first. 🤍 #husbandwife #relationshipcoach #marriageadvice #relationshiptips #inlaws | Karan Shokhi
