This is Laura Zachary and her husband Zion.

They have an agreement where Zion handles the finances and makes all the big decisions while Laura takes care of the cooking, cleaning, and laundry.

But the 37-year-old from Hampshire takes her traditional setup a step further.

Laura says her beliefs are rooted in Christianity and that she sees Zion as the leader - or "Lord" - of their household. She added: "These values are important because we believe in staying within God's design for us.

"I simply cannot carry the burden that he does as it's too heavy for me. Most women nag and complain. They are a victim to their marriage and they haven't learned how to treat a man well."

Lately, I have been seeing a lot of conversations around marriage on this app, and it honestly made me reflect.
Many people view marriage through the lens of control, conditions and expectations.
Personally, I believe a healthy marriage is about supporting each other's growth, not limiting each other's potential.
If he wants to grow in his career, fulfill his responsibilities and build a better future for his family, he deserves encouragement and support.
Likewise, if she wants to learn, build skills, work, or contribute in meaningful ways, she deserves the same respect, encouragement, and trust.
To me, marriage is about having a partner who stands beside you in both the good times and the difficult ones, someone who celebrates your progress, supports your dreams, and helps you become a better person and vice versa.
The strongest marriages aren't built on control. They are built on mutual respect, trust, understanding, and a shared desire to please Allah.

I dont believe in dating, for me understanding is a key in marriage and compatibility can be seen without dating, you just need to be clear with each other. I m a big old school, an ambivert and a text person. I became a bit weird on calls lol. I would prefer someone who have strong opinions about mental health, who is educated enough to know that mental health matters and it's not a joke. I do deal with anxiety and I would prefer someone who can understand how to cope up with it.... It's not some illness but I always prefer to stick with the truth instead of hiding it.
